This course is a comprehensive introduction to chartwork, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship for Competent Crew and Helmsmen. Some practical sailing experience is desirable as a pre-requisite for this course.

This course is conducted over a five and a half-day period, usually starting on Monday morning, with the Saturday morning being taken up by revision and examination. Some evening revision is necessary throughout the week.
