Coastal Skipper / Yacht Master Offshore - Shore Based is an advanced course in navigation and meteorology aimed at candidates for the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate. The syllabus makes some provision for the revision of subjects in the Day Skipper course, however, those who have not acquired that knowledge are unlikely to be able to assimilate all of the subjects covered in this advanced course.
This course is conducted over a five and a half-day period, usually starting on Monday morning, with the Saturday morning being taken up by revision and examination. A good deal of evening revision is necessary throughout the week.
